Our first booth event as SLYO Inland Empire included achcharu, kadala, face painting and a raffle! Even with so much going on, our booth was a HUGE success! Thank you to everyone who supported us!

SLYO IE  held a charity event called Summer Love-chella on Friday July 24th. All proceeds gathered from this fundraiser will go towards building a library for underprivileged children in a school in Sri Lanka. These children have no access to any other books other than a donated text book that they have received. Books empower children to learn and grow. Without access to books their growth development is very limited. Through books a child’s imagination is allowed to grow and run free, and they are able to learn and experience things through these books that otherwise they would not be able to. Having a proper library for a child is essential to their learning process and their futures. We hope to gain enough funds through this event to be able to provide them with a library where they can readily have access to all the benefits a simple book can give, and therefore we will be investing in the future of these children’s lives for the better. We are happy to report that the fundraiser was indeed a huge success by bringing our youth together as well as gathering enough funds to complete this library project for the Mawathura Kanishta Vidyalaya school in Sri Lanka. We are overly ecstatic to be able to help these children develop better futures.
