Irosha Liyanarachchi

Leadership Council Director of (Sri Lanka)

Irosha Chamindi Liyanarachchi was born in Gampola, Kandy Sri Lanka. She has successfully completed A/L examination and is working as a presenter in Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation. She is also a national diploma holder from the University of Jayewardenepura in Mass Media.

Currently, she is working at a local radio station attached to Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation in Kandy named “Maha Nuwara, Kadurata” as an announcer. She has also completed courses related to professional Editing, Recording, Producing in performing her job.

In addition, She has been part of SLYO Sri Lanka Chapter since 2011. Irosha is devoted to making a difference in Sri Lanka by helping SLYO find educational projects that need support and contribution. During her free time Irosha likes to travel the island with her family.

Emesh Fernando

Leadership Mentorship Program Director

Emesh Fernando was born in Portland, Oregon in 1983, and moved to Anaheim, California in 1998. After graduating high school, he went on to compete in collegiate athletics for Cal Poly Pomona (NCAA Division 2). While managing a local running/walking specialty retail store, and coaching at the high school level in cross country/track & field; Emesh enlisted in the United States Air Force, following the footsteps of his Grand Father in Sri Lanka.

With over 9.5 years of military service; Emesh, graduated Summa Cum Laude from Rutgers University, was inducted into Pi Sigma Alpha, and is a graduate student at Liberty University, majoring in Exercise Science and Wellness. A Husband to a military veteran and Father, he remains focused on leading by example, and giving back to the community. As an active member of the Circle of Greatness with the Nehemiah Davis Foundation in Philadelphia, Emesh, also serves as the President of the Warfighters Against Drunk Driving, and the Vice President of the Eagles Center Association in New Jersey. He continues to use his coaching and mentorship experience to assist those who need guidance as a Green Dot mentor, a Sexual Assault Response Coordinator Victims Advocate (certified), and a mentor for young Airmen just arriving to base.

He wants to inspire young minds to rise and thrive, and is honored to be in charge of the SLYO Leadership Mentoring Program for youth.
