About SLYO Northern California

The SLYO Northern California chapter was founded in April 2013.
Their focus is to build a platform for youth involvement and leadership in a diverse yet unified Sri Lankan-American community. Their successful projects include, the Sri Lankan Awrudu celebration, Vesak Lantern making workshop and Picnic at the Presidio, where they collected backpacks and school supplies for the library that SLYO recently built in a remote town in Sri Lanka.
They also asked guests to sign handmade SLYO logoed blankets, later distributed to the homeless in San Francisco. Their Bond Fire event, Charity to Cheesecake event, Warm Your Hearts Blanket Distribution and Paintball Social event, which was was a fun day of paintball with the SLYO NorCal members, are just a few events this chapter has hosted to fulfill their mission.
With the support of their community, they hope to continue hosting local events and overseas that support their mission: to spread the word of youth strength, leadership, unity, and innovation throughout the community!
